May 15th is National Chip Cookie Day! So I've just given you a reason to have a nice chocolately snack. You're welcome.
May 15th is also National Nylon Stocking Day, but since I'm pretty sure that the person who invented stockings and bathing suits was the same sadistic putz, we're just going to ignore that "holiday".
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which is important to me and I believe it should be important to everybody. I'm a big supporter of counseling and yoga and support groups and crossword puzzle and everything else that keeps the mind calm and happy. May is also Melanoma Awareness Month. If you've had a session with me, you may be rolling your eyes and saying, "Here we go again..."
Don't worry, no lectures about wearing sunscreen today! Well, kind of...Instead of lecturing, I will just post the links to the two previous blogs I have written that explain sunscreen and why it is so important. And for those who are not familiar with the sunscreens that I carry, I'll list a few of my favorites.
If you can believe it, I have many more sunscreens for retail! If you have questions about any of the above sunscreens or would like to check out the rest of the selection, contact me at 850-96-9035 or MichelleSablanLMT@gmail.com. And don't forget, I also offer free consultations for those who want to start a skin care routine at home with professional quality product, but need some guidance. I wish you all a safe and UV damage-free summer!
Skinceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense
Slightly behind in second place is this beauty...and the more I use it, the more I like it. It remains in second place simply because I have been using the Lucrece Solar Protection longer as this product was just launched last year. It has a very unique texture that I can only describe as creamy mousse. It also has a tint that goes well with most skin tones. Can you put it on under make up? You better believe it!
5% Zinc Oxide, 6% Titanium Dioxide
SkinMedical Total Defense & Repair
Another great sunscreen! It comes in tinted, untinted and water-resistant varieties. Along with sunscreen, it comes with the benefits of powerful antioxidants to help improved overall skin health and appearance.
8% Zinc Oxide, 7.5% Octinoxate,
Lucrece Solar Protection
This is my favorite sunscreen so far, and I have tried A LOT of them! It has a tint that goes well with most skin tones and it goes on silky smooth, even under make up.
17% Zinc Oxide
The AAD’s new SPOTme® video, “Check Him Out,” uses humor to show how men and women sometimes see things a little differently before encouraging women to regularly check their partner’s skin for the signs of skin cancer.
Obagi360 Hydrafactor Broad Spectrum SPF
Obagi has about seven different sunscreens and, I have to say, I've tried them all and I like hem all. This Hydrafactor sunscreen is a great one for teens, women on the go and men who don't want to do too much as it combines a moisturizer and SPF in one application. This is different from your mass market moisturizer + sunscreen combo because it is made with Obagi's hydromanil technology for hydration, quality sunscreen ingredients and tested in it's final formulation to ensure the product works as designed.
7.5% Octinoxate, 5% Oxybenzone
Skinceuticals Physical Eye Fusion UV Defense
I would be doing you a huge disservice if I didn't mention this sunscreen. Formulated specifically for the eye area, this tinted sunscreen goes all around the eye and for protection of the thinnest skin on the face without migrating into and irritating the eye. It also contains ceramides to help nourish the eye area.
